Painted Flowers :: Fleurs peintes

It’s hard to live your life in color, and tell the truth in black and white.
— Gregg Allman

As I have not painted or drawn in over a week, I am rusty and I know that by experience, when I do this type of colour study, it helps me — it actually brings back the colours in my eyes. I know that this sounds strange, but this really works for me. This simple exercise, when done, brings back my understanding of the colour spectrum that lies in my colour palette. You can see if a blue is a colder blue (with a green shade within it) or if it is a warmer blue (with a violet shade). Once the colours are back in your eyes, you can start painting again.

    I missed you, but this election has kept me occupied. I’ve been painting daily, and today hooked up a new monitor for my computer. I thought the old one might be dying because everything was so dark. It was over 8 years old, so not too unhappy that it’s gone. Hopefully this new one will lighten things up. Welcome back.

      Oh thank you… I missed painting so much too, but sometimes life just gets in the way, huh? Glad that you have a new monitor, it will make your colours sing -) Good for you — painting every day is heavenly!!!
