I see and write things first as an artist,
second as a woman,
and third as a New Yorker.
All three have built-in perspectives that aren’t neutral.

I met up with the Montreal Urban Sketchers yesterday at the Grand Séminaire de Montréal and it was quite astounding! The chapel was gorgeous and the grounds, well… huge! To think that the Sipulcian priests thrived within the seigneurial system from 1675 to 1840 in Montreal! It is my Dad’s passing away day — a great deal of thought for you Dad!

Nice painting, that building looks like it is from a fairy tale!!

It’s almost from a fairy tale as it is soooo old — 10 people lived in it to guard the fort in the 1600s… and then it became a bread making mill — they must have suffocated in the heat!

a fascinating drawing-all cylinders some very modern, some old and one a natural object, the tree.

Hi Holly — thank you! That was the general idea and I wish that I had muted the new buildings in the background — would have made a better contrast! Boy does it show when we do not paint as much, huh? I’m out of practice -)))

Me too! Our ideas, however, are fresh and worthy of expression. I love that you post your work.
