:: November day ::

“The high value put upon every minute of time,
the idea of hurry-hurry as the most important objective of living,
is unquestionably the most dangerous enemy of joy.”

— Herman Hesse

During the month of November it rains, it snows, there are days of sunshine and cloudy days that add a touch of grey in the atmosphere that I feel thankful for. My grandfather used to say that it was the month of the dead, but to me it is a month of contradictions — between resting, preparing for the holiday festivities and getting over the hurdle of correcting student projects, it is a month of change… from autumn to winter. Changes are about to happen as the slow November month turns into the festive month of December and its shortest day of the year! So here is a dreary and beautiful little hamlet of warmth and rest — just behind my cosmetician’s business.

  1. No leaves, no birds, nobody! November! A change month for sure! Rest up, the silly season will be here before we know it! As always the simplicity of your renderings inspires!

  2. Loving your use of black lines sparingly on the trees and around the foreground. Just a bit of definition, I admire your art. Also the quote you used applies so well to this time of year, wishing everything around would slow down. Thank you for sharing.
