Practice any art: music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming, to find out what’s inside you, to make your soul grow.
— Kurt Vonnegut

I am a subscriber to Danny Gregory’s blog posts and today he really touched me as he was experiencing with the sad state of his art form as he had been too busy with other “stuff” and I really related to what he was saying. If you want to read his post, here is the link. So he motivated me to take up the pen and just start drawing again even though we canned 100 lbs of tomatoes today and are quite pooped out… and happy with a job well done -) I sketched these faces as my husband and I are binge watching a Netflix TV series named Rectify… worth watching!

  1. So glad you posted about Danny Gregory’s blogpost, I read it, was inspired to get back to daily ink sketching, and felt part of the enormous community of artists/sketchers, knowing that we all get into these ruts from time to time. It’s nice to have a boost to pull ourselves out and back on track.mthanks for your posts!

  2. Very good point, Jane. I did read Danny’s blog too and if we tend to put off sketching for any length of time we tend to get a little rusty. So with that said, I try to sketch or draw just 10 or 15 minutes a day and that helps a lot.
